OGUN STATE CASSAVA REVOLUTION PROGRAMME (OGCRP)
Ogun State Cassava Revolution Programme was created in February 2005, following the inauguration of the Presidential Initiative on Cassava, 2002-2004. The Programme was created to promote the development of the cassava sub-sector and harness the enormous potentials of the sub-sector as a major support for socio-economic and industrial development of the State.
To create a cassava economy that is sustainable, efficient and effectively rewarding to all stakeholders, with products matching similar ones all over the world in quality, and being able to compete in any market.
To develop the cassava sub-sector of Ogun State and make it second to none in Nigeria.
To promote steady and sustainable growth in the cassava economy of OgunState through continued facilitation of the production, distribution and use of cuttings of improved cassava varieties by cassava growers and the adoption of best practices by stakeholders in the cassava value chain in the State.
To stimulate Group Approach to production, processing and marketing of cassava and cassava products and derivatives with a view to reducing cost and enhancing profit all along the cassava value chain.
To contribute significantly and mitigate the harsh effects of the current global economic meltdown and food insecurity.
