ABOUT MOA

Ogun State is committed to economic development for its people and Agriculture is highlighted as a focal pillar in achieving this. His Excellency Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, has pledged to create an enabling environment for inclusive development of the agricultural sector in a bid to create jobs, ensure food security, and spread prosperity through the state.

To do this, Ogun State wants to focus on leveraging on the comparative advantages the state has and sets out a framework for action to address challenges of sustainable production that is private sector driven, adheres to climate smart and good environmental practices as well as inclusion of Small Holder Farmers. Ultimately our goal is to integrate the upstream and downstream activities through a value-chain approach by promoting strategic partnerships to stimulate investments that drive a collaborative and market-led agricultural transformation.

Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture is the organ of Government responsible for formulating policies on food and agriculture for the State and is to enhance self-sufficiency in food production, provide raw materials for agro-based industries, generate employment opportunities and obtain desirable levels of export in order to improve the country’s foreign exchange earnings.
